Feature

The difference of the sapwood and the duramen is not clear. The sapwood is yellowish-white, and the duramen is light yellowish-white. t has a scent of its own. The quality of the wood is rather soft and processing is easy. The surface finish is very good. It is also known as “Asunaro”, consisting two Japanese words “Asu(tomorrow)” and Narou(wish to be) means that the tree wishes to be Chamaecyparis Obtusa tomorrow.
