Japanese Chestnut  【栗】

The sapwood is brownish gray and the duramen is brown. The clear annual ring is very beautiful, which makes it suitable for furniture and floor material. It has much of tannin, that sometimes changes the wood gradually darker to be almost black. The texture is beautiful, so it is recommended for a table or a lunch counter.
