Phellodendron 【キハダ】

It belongs to Rutaceae family and one of the broad leaved deciduous trees. The difference of the sapwood and the duramen is clear. The sapwood is pale yellow, and the duramen is yellowish brown with a bit green color. It is very glossy and the wood grain is so beautiful. It is often used for furniture. Sometimes used as a substitution for Mulberry with some coloring.
